Wisdom teeth are the third and final set of molars that emerge, usually during your late teens to early twenties. For some people, the wisdom teeth emerge through the gums and they have enough room to grow in naturally. For others, their teeth may be impacted or there’s no room for the teeth to come in. Impacted wisdom teeth come in at weird angles pushing into the teeth in front of them. Due to their angle, impacted teeth either partially erupt or not at all. Most people develop 0-4 wisdom teeth, but some may develop more than 4. If you are between 15-25 years old, we may recommend taking a PAN radiograph to assess the number, location, and development of your wisdom teeth.
